Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) Model Training

Training Details

Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) is a trauma-informed, field-initiated training based on principles taught in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).  CARE utilizes the 3 P skills (Praise, Paraphrase, and Point out Behavior) to connect with children as well as a set of techniques for giving effective positive commands to children, and a set of selective ignoring techniques to redirect problematic behaviors.  Participants will learn and practice: the relationship building components of CARE, the 3 Ps and 3 Qs of CARE, CARE Skills, Ignore Skills, how to use good commands, and Broken Record Technique.  Participants will need to bring their favorite toy or set of toys from their classroom to use during the training.
